About Us
Dehradun has always evoked feelings of nostalgia, old world charm and a sense of nurturing that is seldom found in another place. However, with rapid urbanization, a lot of these havens in the city are now eroding or shrinking. The Garden Project is a lovechild to counter that very sentiment. As there were hardly any places in Dehradun that offer such old school charm for the people to leisurely enjoy and be cut away from the chaos of the city, we provide plenty of differently curated spaces where one can have a different experience every time they visit – whether they decide to sit at one of the four terraces or the gardens or the verandah. Each unique experience and all cherished memories.
Once you step in, you’ll find that the space is not just a restaurant. It’s a food park with artisanal, niche live-kitchens providing high quality eats at attractive prices. It offers experiential dining with over 6 different seating areas in an orchard. Complete with an Amphitheater (Symphony) and Botanical Gardens (The Woods) for flea markets, live music, outdoor screenings, interactive classes etc, we aim to become the cultural hub of the city for people of all ages throughout the year.
A lot of thought into the development of the space is based on the exponential rate in which Dehradun was changing - a disheartening thing to see a city as beloved as Dun lose its charm of open spaces and rich architecture. Having grown up in Dehradun, we wanted to preserve that culture and the nostalgic appeal that the valley was once known for. So, we designed The Garden Project in such a way that it was reminiscent of the massive British- Colonial bungalows with extensive verandahs, terraces and gardens where one could enjoy the pleasant weather all year round. We wanted the space to reflect the same and transport the customers walking in, to that era.
Essentially, The Garden Project aims to be a gift to the city and people of Dehradun. We want to become an integral and inclusive part of the well-knit community welcoming all kinds of people and promoting the immense budding talent that exists here – from small businesses to artists. We envision our space to be a legacy to be passed on to the future generations of the beautiful valley we call our home.
