On June 7th, the Symphony Amphitheater hosted a magical evening, “Mehfil-e-Khaas,” showcasing the enchanting world of Sufi music with a stunning performance by Project Ragas. The event was made even more delightful by the delicious food and drinks served by Basque.
The garden’s serene environment, paired with the amphitheater’s excellent acoustics, set the stage for a memorable night. The ensemble, featuring a talented lead vocalist, harmonium, tabla, and guitar players, performed an array of traditional Sufi qawwalis that captivated everyone present. The evening began with a peaceful invocation, followed by beloved classics like “Dama Dam Mast Qalandar” and “Allah Hoo.” Between musical pieces, the audience was treated to recitations of Sufi poetry, adding depth and reflection to the performance.
The audience, a mix of dedicated Sufi music fans and intrigued newcomers, responded with rapt attention and enthusiastic applause. Many were seen swaying to the music, fully immersed in the experience.
